Charlie Tran is a versatile pianist with a wide-ranging background in classical, jazz, pop, and more. After earning his degree from the renowned Moore’s School of Music at the University of Houston, he founded Novu Music Academy in his hometown where he taught students of all levels and interests. As his passion for jazz deepened and his online community grew, he founded Novu Jazz Academy - an online platform featuring multiple in-depth jazz courses - allowing him to share his unique approach to jazz piano with students around the world.

2021 - 2023 • Chairman of the music theory department of HMTA (Houston Music Teacher's Association)
2019 - 2023 • Designed the college preparatory portion of the Emery/Wiener school's piano curriculum
2021 • Selected as the music director for the grand opening of the Elgin St. Studios at the University of Houston
2020 • Co-chair of the music theory committee of HMTA (Houston Music Teacher’s Association
2020 • Created a series of online piano courses in composition and improvisation at the International Music Academy in Houston
